Chamber of Commerce Honors Citizens and Businesses

With an evening filled with wine and chocolates, the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce honored local residents and businesses for their service to the community.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, hosted 's Annual Awards celebration and Vin En Chocolat Holiday Indulgence, which featured some of the Northwest’s finest wines and Chocolates.

With 147 people in attendance, the event kicked off with wine tastings from DeLILLE Cellars, Maryhill Winery and Page Cellars, and each guest was treated to delectable chocolates from Heidi’s Sweet Shop.

The Chamber honored local residents and businesses for their outstanding service to the Gig Harbor community. They went home with a personalized magnum wine bottle award that were customized with hand etched designs by Fresh Northwest Design of Gig Harbor.

The Chamber recognized the following people and businesses:

Citizen(s) of the Year: Ron and Pat Jones

Non-Profit Community Service: Marty Thacker of the

Partnership Award: Sue Wilhelm of

President's Award: Elinor Reiley, Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce Volunteer

Business/Professional Person of the Year: Tom Drohan of

Best Business After Hours:

Ambassador of the Year: Kasey Petersen of

Lt. Col. Roy Robbings of the 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Gig Harbor’s Community Liaison, was also present to accept the gifts and cash donations for Joint Base Lewis-McChord’s Santa’s Castle sponsored by the 191st Infantry Brigade, making Christmas brighter for military families since 1994.

"The Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce is proud to have been an integral part of this amazing program for the past four years," said Chamber President and CEO, Warren Zimmerman.
