I'm glad we didn't end up stealing another city's team, but that was never in danger of happeningRead More anyway because I know full damn well the NBA was never going to let it happen and was just using us to get a deal out of Sacramento.

Crystal - it sounds like the Kings are not your favorite team. Just a hunch :)

Good stuff Dan. I'm good with whatever is the quickest way to get a team.

Does Gig Harbor want to be like Bellevue or Seattle? I hope not.
Steven J Mason May 13, 2013 at 11:40 pm
Perhaps it is a sign of the times but we here at the Gig Harbor RV Resort have already takenRead More reservations for this event. Will be posting the event in our news letter and on our web site as the date draws near.

Tacoma Narrows Airport will be attractive to private aircraft during the Open so everything fromRead More luxury transportation services to hotels and restaurants could benefit if we can bring ourselves up to 'par' with Seattle. If the weather is beautiful, boating excursions will be popular. There may be a demand for waterfront homes available for lease. And, all real estate agents should get their high end properties advertised in the appropriate publications before and after.

I am so pleased and appreciative of this terrific group, led by our wonderfully focused ChrisRead More Hansen-you are keeping our hearts, souls, and dreams alive for our future NBA Basketball Team!! We will persevere! No fear-even if it is a few years off-this may be just a warm up for the final steps necessary to bring our Sonics Home!!! They are coming! One of your biggest fan and supporter!! Karen

I'm with you Brent, except in one respect. Perhaps the Sonics would have stayed in Seattle ifRead More leadership, both Wasington State and Seattle, had generated a committed vision for a stadium. At the time, our local capacity for action was nil. Sacramento, today, has generated a serious, committed effort in an incredibly short time led by a mayor. Imagine that! So, noting that distinction, Howard, David, and even Clay, are kind of absolved. The threshold criterion in Stern's mind is the will to act on an arena. In that sense, he appears consistent. As for Howard, on one hand he appears to have had his one great imaginative idea when he opened the latte site. Hansen, on the other hand, is a creative generator. I still think a team will emerge, if not now, relatively soon, say within two years.

Could you tell I was a little peeved, Dan? Seriously, I absolutely agree about that Sacramento plan.Read More So many holes it's ridiculous. It will be interesting to see how H/B/N will respond. They're successful billionaires for a reason. I'm assuming helplessly losing out on an investment isn't one of them.

"The [City of Boston] will recover stronger and run the event again in honor of theRead More victims," Boston marathon participant Dr. Pat Hogan said in an email to Patch.

Hopefully a life changing lesson.

Life lesson for Austin and everyone that looks up to him that drinking and driving don't match. JustRead More don't do it, way too much at risk..Here's hoping he gets back on the field soon, and that he is able to spread the word on how lucky he was that no one got hurt or worse.

The only thing that makes people crazier than politics, religion or gun rights is professionalRead More sports. I suggest we invite the Sacramento patch users to join us to have a discussion on this topic. Might be fun to watch!
