A Driving School of Gig Harbor is the second oldest driving school in the state. It is the oldest in the Kitsap and GigMore Harbor Peninsulas. It is owned and operated by local college-certified instructors. The school offers a variety of class times for student convenience and the instructors promote an atmosphere of favorable attitudes toward learning. Class sizes are small and the visual aids and presentations are interesting. Classes include 15 class sessions, six behind-the-wheel sessions and at least one observation. A driving permit isn't needed. Its office is located on 56th St. NW, adjacent to the Inn at Gig Harbor and located right behind Umpqua Bank. Classrooms are across the street. Classes are available for all ages from teen to adult.
Kopachuck Middle School

Kopachuck Middle School is located next to Voyager Elementary School. It is also across the street from the KopachuckMore State Park. As one of the four middle schools in the Peninsula School District, more than 600 students attend. Students at Kopachuck Middle School have a diverse variety of elective courses, including music, technology and Spanish. The Kopachuck Coyotes also excel in athletics, such as basketball, volleyball, track, soccer and wrestling. Among the 41 members of the staff, 20 of them have their master's degree, while two have their doctorate. Iva Scott is the principal.
