Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One provides service to residents living on the Gig Harbor Peninsula, Fox and RaftMore Islands. The fire district provides services to  more than 44,000 residents including those living within the City of Gig Harbor limits. The fire district has nine fire stations as well as a Headquarters/Training facility.</p> <p>Five of the nine stations are staffed everyday with full-time firefighters. Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One has 100 paid members and 40 volunteers. It offers services including fire suppression, emergency medical, special operations and fire & injury prevention strategies. Parking is available for visitors and members only.</p>

Pierce County Fire District 16 - Station 46

Located next to the Key Center Library, Station 46 serves as the headquarters of Pierce County Fire District 16, alsoMore known as the Key Peninsula Fire Department. With a combination of professional and volunteer firefighters, the department provides service for more than 1,800 residents living in the Key Peninsula and Herron Island. There are a total of six stations throughout the district, but only Station 47 in Home is staffed 24 hours a day. It covers a little more than 65 square miles of land.</p> <p>The Key Peninsula Fire Department was established in 1952. It got its first fire engine two years later. Today, the department has six fire engines, three ambulances and other rescue equipment. Every day, the department is staffed with at least four firefighters and paramedic personnel.</p> <p>The department's services include fire suppression, emergency aid and water rescue. Firefighters also hold CPR lessons and visit local schools to teach safety lessons to students.</p>
