It was originally founded in 1995 as the Holy Family School.More Five years later, it became a parish school and changed the name to St. Nicholas. More than 150 students attend the school. There are two classrooms for kindergartners and one for each grade level. In addition to after-school programs, the school also offers Spanish and music classes. The students at St. Nicholas also participate in sports programs including cross country, basketball and volleyball.

Hosanna Christian School

Since 1982, Hosanna Christian School has been one of the independent Christian schools in the Gig Harbor Peninsula. ItMore is located off Point Fosdick Drive behind the Peninsula Library. The school provides education for preschool through 8th grade students. In order for teachers to work more closely with their students, the preschool classes have no more than nine students in each classroom. The upper grade levels have an average class size of 17 students.
Goodman Middle School

Located by Harbor Heights Elementary School, Goodman Middle School is one of the four middle schools in the PeninsulaMore School District. Principal Scott McDaniel oversees nearly 600 students. The GMS Roadrunners Athletic Program went under budget cuts which limited the number of teams for sports like volleyball and basketball. 
Henderson Bay High School

Henderson Bay High School offers an alternative learning environment for ninth to 12th graders. The school implementsMore same curriculum as the other two high schools in Peninsula School District. However, with an enrollment of about 120 students, the classrooms are smaller and allows teachers to work more closely with the students. The school also does not have any athletic programs. The students take the regular bus to either Peninsula High School or Gig Harbor High School in the morning. Once they get to the schools, another bus will take the students to Henderson Bay. The classes end at 1:50pm so the students have enough time to get back to the other high schools, which get out at 2pm.</p> <p>In 2010, the district named Dave Goodwin as Henderson Bay's principal. Goodwin graduated from Gig Harbor High School and spent the previous three years as assistant principal at Peninsula High School.</p>

Harbor Ridge Middle School

Located on Prentice Avenue, Harbor Ridge Middle School has one of the best views of the harbor and Mount Rainier in theMore area. Formerly known as the Union High School, the building was built in 1921. The school completed its most recent remodeling project in 2006 and currently features 14 classrooms, four science labs and a computer lab for its students. Serving more than 500 students, Harbor Ridge is one of four middle schools in the Peninsula School District. It offers several athletic programs and after school clubs in which the school provides a free activity bus.
Gig Harbor Academy

Founded in 1976, Gig Harbor Academy is the oldest non-public school in the Gig Harbor peninsula. More than 150 studentsMore attend this facility on 32nd Street. It has four-buildings to accommodate students from preschool through fifth grade. The preschool curriculum includes art, music and Spanish in addition to pre-reading skills, math and science. Fitness and technology are also part of the school curriculum. In order to maintain its family like environment, parents are welcome to volunteer. Gig Harbor Academy also offers before- and after-school programs.
Gig Harbor High School

Established in 1978, Gig Harbor High School currently has the largest student body in the Peninsula School District.More More than 1,500 students walk the halls everyday. Gig Harbor Tides's impressive football team is led by Head Coach Darren McKay, who has nine consecutive winning seasons under his belt. The Tides's biggest rivals are Peninsula High School and South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard. In addition to athletics, Gig Harbor High School offers more than 40 different clubs for students. The school principal is Ted Strong.
Artondale Elementary School

Located on 40th Street in the south Gig Harbor Peninsula, Artondale Elementary School is one of the eight elementaryMore schools in the Peninsula School District. With more than 450 students, it stretches over 60,000 square feet of land. The facilities include 22 regular classrooms, two kindergarten rooms, four portable classrooms and two multipurpose rooms. The students also have access to a library, sports facility and computer lab.
Kopachuck Middle School

Kopachuck Middle School is located next to Voyager Elementary School. It is also across the street from the KopachuckMore State Park. As one of the four middle schools in the Peninsula School District, more than 600 students attend. Students at Kopachuck Middle School have a diverse variety of elective courses, including music, technology and Spanish. The Kopachuck Coyotes also excel in athletics, such as basketball, volleyball, track, soccer and wrestling. Among the 41 members of the staff, 20 of them have their master's degree, while two have their doctorate. Iva Scott is the principal.
Peninsula School District

The main office for Gig Harbor's public school system oversees 15 schools. There are more than 8,600 students in theMore Peninsula School District. About 6,000 students ride one of the 70 buses that drive around the Key Peninsula every day. Terry Bouck has been serving as the superintendent since 2006. 
Harbor Montessori

Harbor Heights Elementary School

With a rich history of more than five decades, Harbor Heights Elementary School is one of the eight elementaryMore schools in the Peninsula School District. When it first opened in 1953, most of its student body were from Croatian fishing families and Scandinavian farming families. The campus used today was built in 1990-91. It is located next to Goodman Middle School. It features 20 classrooms, a gym, computer lab and a stage. Gig Harbor KinderCare

The Gig Harbor branch of KinderCare is located on the intersection of Grandview Street and Stinson Avenue. ItMore accepts students as young as 6 weeks old and as old as age 12. There is a keypad security system on the door where parents or guardians sign in. KinderCare also offers before- and after-school programs for older students. Eileen Gonzalez is the director of this facility.
Chapel Hill Preschool

The Chapel Hill Preschool is located in Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church off Skansie Avenue. Each class has no more thanMore 15 students. The school encourages parents to participate in the classroom while the teacher and an assistant teacher lead the class. The students and staff worship every week in the church's main chapel. The school also has plenty of parking. Sharen Littlefield is the director of the preschool.
Key Peninsula Middle School

Located on Key Peninsula Highway, Key Peninsula Middle School is home to more than 450 students in the peninsula. TheMore building underwent several construction projects since it was originally built in 1981. In addition to its 22 classrooms, there are six portable classrooms, two computer labs and two athletic fields. Sixth through eighth graders can participate in sports including basketball, soccer and track. With free bus transportation, Key Peninsula offers several clubs for students to join. After-school programs are also available. Jeri Goebel is the school principal. 
Peninsula High School

With more than 1,300 students on campus, Peninsula High School is one of the three high schools in the Peninsula SchoolMore District. The principal, Tim Winter, has an online <a href="http://blogs.psd401.net/phsprincipal/">blog</a> where he posts news and announcements. The students have a unique schedule where they meet their teachers for all six classes on Mondays and Friday. On the other three days, the students have four longer hours of class. An average class size is about 30 students in each classroom. With more than half of the students at the school participating in extracurricular activities, Peninsula High School has more than 20 different options for sports programs. The Peninsula Seahawks are proud to have won individual state championships in wrestling and track. It also has more than 20 organizations for students to join. Little Lambs Preschool

Located on Peacock Hill Avenue, Little Lambs Preschool is part of Agnus Dei Lutheran Church, which was organized inMore October 1979. Little Lambs Preschool opened in September 1995. Since then, it has been providing early childhood education for 2- to 5-year-old children. Class schedules and tuition vary depending on the student's age. The school curriculum includes science, writing, art and music.
