In addition to being located next to the civic center, the park is adjacent to the Gig Harbor Police Station, making the park relatively safe. Other parks nearby include the Civic Green area and the Grandview Forest Park at Cushman Trail.</p>

For residents of the Key Peninsula, Volunteer Park is the home of good times and good memories. Located next to Key…More Peninsula Middle School off of Key Peninsula Highway, Volunteer Park offers two sports fields, a skate park, picnic shelters, horseshoe pits and walking trails. There is also a nine-whole frisbee golf course on the grounds.</p> <p>Volunteer park hosts several events throughout the year, including Key Peninsula Little League games and the annual Key Peninsula Fair. The park was built in 1977 and is administered by Key Pen Parks.  Contact the park for information on hosting private events or reserving picnic pavillions.</p>

Located just in front of Gig Harbor Civic Center. Civic Center Green offers a large open field with benches…More surrounding the outer edges. This park also offers trash receptacles and water fountains. The large open field has a view of Gig Harbor and Mt. Rainier on a nice day.</p> <p>Also located nearby (in the same parking lot) are the Skate Park and Grandview Forest Park which has the Cushman Trail winding through. Plenty of ample parking is available for this park. However, handicap access is limited since the green open field area is raised and accessible by stairs.</p>
