Former Tide Tally Hall Selected to MLS All-Star Game

Former Gig Harbor High School and current Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall has been selected to the 2011 Major League Soccer All-Star team.

Tally Hall has been proving his talents on the pitch since his days at Gig Harbor High School. Now the 26-year-old will have a chance to prove them against one of the most storied soccer programs in the world.

The Gig Harbor native and Houston Dynamo goalkeeper has been selected to the 2011 Major League Soccer All-Star team that will play against England's Manchester United on July 27 at Red Bull Arena in New York.

Hall, a fourth-year player out of San Diego State, is in his first full season as the Dynamo's (5-6-9) starting keeper. Hall's 60 saves on the season rank fourth in the 18-league team and his play has been lauded on the Eastern Conference's fourth-place team team, highlighted by a career-high eight saves in a 1-1 draw against Sporting Kansas City last week. The Dynamo played that game with just nine players following successive red cards.

“Over the past four or five games, there have been nights where he’s stood on his head for us," Dynamo forward Brian Ching said after that match, according to MLSsoccer.com.

Patch spoke with Hall in March about this first season as a starter and his thoughts on the soccer explosion in the Pacific Northwest.
