Best Mom in Gig Harbor: Allison Merwin

In honor of Mother’s Day, Patch readers uploaded photos of local moms for the Best Mom in Gig Harbor contest.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we got some really incredible nominees for .

The winning entry comes from Rachel Easton of Gig Harbor who nominated her friend, Allison Merwin.

Merwin, and her husband Blake, owner of the , fostered two children for two years before they returned to their biological parents.

“I think she is the best mom in Gig Harbor. She has had a very difficult road to becoming a mother,” wrote Easton.

The Merwins took on another two children, and this year, they adopted their daughter Kimberlin. Jayden, is still going through the adoption process, according to Easton.

“You will never find a more patient and loving mother than Allison. Her kids have the best manners, an engaged mind and kind hearts,” she wrote.

In addition to her Best Mom in Gig Harbor title, Allison Merwin wins a $25 gift card to , which was named the .
