Gig Harbor, Key Peninsula Riders Lose Two Bus Routes

The Pierce Transit eliminated 16 bus routes on Sunday including routes 113 and 601 in Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula riders.

If your bus stop has a yellow cover over the sign, that route is officially gone.

On Sunday, Pierce Transit terminated 16 bus routes as part of its 15-percent service reduction plan.

Routes 113 Key Peninsula Bus PLUS and 601 Kimball-Olympia were among the reduced routes in Pierce County.

Back in June, a budget deficit of $51 million and the prompted the , according to its website. The first 20 percent of its routes were cut in June.

Crews will be removing all bus stops, including signs, shelters and benches, by the end of November, Pierce Transit said.
