Grab and Go Kid's Planner, April 27th

This weeks features on kid friendly events and activities.

While most students are on their spring break, there are plenty of fun activities going to keep your kids busy.

When/Where: 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gig Harbor Pierce County Library

Why Go: Come learn about the fascinating machines and design, build and fly their own airship. The event is open to all kids from kindergarten through fifth grade. No registration is required.

Price: Free

When/Where: 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Key Center Pierce County Library

Why Go: Stop by the library in Key Center to learn about robotics and its history. Your kids will learn about robots' latest achievements in space, on Earth and at home. They will also get to test out basic engineering skills required to build an extraterrestrial rover. The event is sponsored by the Museum of Flight. This hour-long event is open to second through ninth graders.

Price: Free, register at the library.

 

When/Where: 10 a.m. to Noon, Friday at

Why Go: A family that volunteers together stays together and investing just a couple of hours in the park is a great way to ring in the spring weather and do a good deed.

Price: Free.

 

100th Monkey

When/Where: 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday at 313 Puyallup Ave., Tacoma (next to Tacoma Bike).

Why Go: Every other month or so a group of 'monkeys' gather together in the name of  art to meet others with like interest and aid in community building. Especially a good experience for your young ones to introduce them to those in the creative community, art and music. Entertainment is always present and $4 monkey collector tiles are available for sale. Start the families collection now!

Price: Free for all  (bringing an appetizer is encouraged but not necassary).

 

Enviro Fair

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at 3715 Bridgeport Way, University Place (adjacent to the Spring Flower and Plant Show at Homestead Park).

Why Go: Spend the afternoon eyeing lovely flowers and plants and learning as a family about recycling, compost, bee shelters and other sustainable practices.

Price: Free.
