It Was A Rock-&-Roll, Street-Type Of Fourth In Steilacoom

The Fourth of July holiday saw thousands of visitors congregate in the state's oldest town throughout the day. At night, the crowd moved to the water's edge to watch fireworks illuminate the sky above Puget Sound.

Steilacoom provided fun from morning until late into the night Monday, beginning with a four-mile run-and-walk and a one-miile fun run for children.

Following the race, Lafayette Street was turned into a street fair complete with beer garden, access to the historical and tribal museums, an ice cream social, car show, parade and dance.

Then, as , the state's oldest town saw a fireworks show that lit up the skies over Puget Sound.
