PenMet Parks Seeking Community Input to Update District Plans

PenMet Parks will be updating its Comprehensive Park, Open Space and Recreation Plan for 2012, and local residents are invited to serve on various Focus Groups.

is preparing to update the District’s Comprehensive Park, Open Space and Recreation Plan.

The process involves public input, and the organization is currently seeking community members to serve on a variety of Focus Groups.

It is also seeking a few individuals to serve as a Focus Group representative on our Citizen’s Advisory Group.

Focus Groups will meet a time or two in the coming month, either at a public location like PenMet offices, or at a Focus Group member’s home.

The Advisory Group will meet about six times between now and February 2012.

There are other public meetings in the process which are optional and open for anyone to attend.

Attached is an excerpt from the 2006 Comprehensive Plan. The focus group material starts on page 10 under Public Involvement.

The District is looking to review the historical focus group work and update it for the current situation and conditions.

There will be a few modifications to the 2006 Focus Group lineup for 2012 with a few combined and a few new groups based on suggestions.
