Photos of the Day: 4-Point Buck and His Newfound Love Interest

Patch reader Don Schultz sent us these photos of this impressive buck with his new doe.

Gig Harbor resident and Patch reader, Don Shultz, sent us these amazing shots of two deer visiting his yard recently. He even included a great anecdote to go with the photos.

Here's what he said:

A few weeks ago, we saw our little dog Annie looking out the front window.  We noticed outside a female deer walking down our driveway so I quietly picked up my camera...carefully opened the back sliding glass door...walked down and peeked around the corner of the house…just in time to see not just that one little doe but also a very large 4 POINT BUCK both eating berries off the ground.

History has proven that during "this fall mating season is NOT THE TIME to mess with either Mother Nature or a large 4 point buck courting his newfound love interest.

With that in mind...I set the camera for a 2 second shutter delay...carefully and quietly extended my left hand with the camera around the corner of the garage…and here are a couple of shots before I retreated back into the house.

Both deer hung around for about 2 hours until they finished eating all the berries off the vines or the habitual annoying neighborhood junkyard dogs’ never-ending barking put an end to their honeymooning plans at The Shultz No-tell' Motel.

No problem. Welcome Brent. By the way, I'm a graphic artist, have any need for ad design?
