Wind Advisory Issued For Today

Gusts could reach up to 45 miles per hour.

Hold on to your hats. No, really. Hold onto them.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a wind advisory for Puget Sound beginning around noon today. Winds could reach between 20 miles per hour and 30 miles per hour. Gusts could reach 45 miles per hour.

The advisory is in effect until about 9 p.m. tonight, when the wind gusts are expected to die down.

A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds between 30 mph and 39 mph.

Tonight: Showers likely, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Windy, with a southwest wind 27 to 30 mph decreasing to between 13 and 16 mph. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers before 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Southwest wind around 11 mph. 

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Southwest wind between 9 and 11 mph. 

Wednesday: Rain, mainly after 11am. High near 52. South southwest wind between 8 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Wednesday Night: Showers. Low around 38. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Thursday: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Thursday Night: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. 

Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. 

Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.
