The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a wind advisory around noon on Sunday. The advisory is in effect until 3 p.m., according to the website.
The NWS said a cold front moving through Western Washington will produce periods of sustained winds up to 39 mph with gusts to 50 mph through the mid afternoon.
Winds this strong can snap small tree branches, topple small or shallow rooted trees and cause local power outages.
According to Peninsula Light Company's Twitter page, it restored power to about 1,800 homes in the Artondale area. Residents lost power earlier today due to two circuit outages.
