Boys & Girls Clubs to Host Battle of the Bands

Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound in Gig Harbor will be hosting a Battle of the Bands next month. Local youth bands can submit CDs to enter the contest.

Calling all aspiring local musicians. The in Gig Harbor will be hosting a Battle of the Bands in January. This event is open to all bands whose members live in Pierce, Kitsap or Mason Counties. All band members must be under the age of 19 (exception: one band member may 20 years old).

Three bands will be picked to perform at the final competition in front of a live audience on Jan. 28. In order to be selected for the finals, bands must send in a CD of their music to the Cheney Family Boys & Girls Club no later than Dec. 30, 2011 at 8502 Skanise Avenue, Gig Harbor, WA, 98332

The first-place winner of the contest will have the opportunity for a 3-song demo CD recording session at Pacific Studios in Tacoma. The event will be open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m., and admission is $5.
