Attention, Local Small-Business Owners: How Does a $250,000 Grant Sound?

Chase and LivingSocial are partnering for Mission: Small Business, a program that is awarding grants to 12 small businesses nationwide. Applications are being accepted through June 30.

Do you own a small business – or patronize one?

Chase and LivingSocial are awarding up to 12 individual grants of $250,000 to 12 small businesses nationwide. Mission: Small Business applications are being accepted through June 30.

The program was developed to provide small businesses with resources needed to make a positive impact on their business. Business owners who have been in operation for at least two years and have fewer than 100 employees are invited to apply for grants.

Owners will be required to explain why their business is unique; outline a proposed plan for utilizing the grant to grow their business; and describe how their business is involved with its community.

So far, , Believers In Business, Jewels of the Harbor Healing Massage Studios, Gig Harbor Wiring, Inc., and RVB Builders, Inc. are registered for Gig Harbor.

Even if you don’t have your own business, you can show support for small businesses in your community by logging in with your Facebook. For every person that clicks “Support” and votes for their favorite registered small business, Chase and LivingSocial will donate $5 toward the grant pool, up to $3 million total.

Each registered small business must receive at least 250 votes to be considered for a grant. Voting is open through June 30. A panel of business experts will then judge eligible applicants.
