Poulsbo Brewery Wins "Favorite Brew Award"

Sound Brewery Co's Dubbel Entendre wins "Favorite Brew Award" at the inaugural Gig Harbor Beer Festival.

The inaugural drew more than 1,200 people where they got to taste more than 21 of the finest craft beers in the Northwest.

But for the attendees, one beer stood out above the rest: Dubbel Entendre from Poulsbo’s Sound Brewery Co., earning them the “Favorite Brew Award”.

"The people chose the favorite brew at the festival," said John Fosberg, event coordinator. "We didn't want a complicated judging system by only a handful of self-proclaimed beer experts. We wanted the event-goers to simply tell us which brew they liked the best -- and they did, by a wide margin. The Dubbel Entendre from Sound kicked butt."

"We are very proud to have so many people at the festival enjoy our Dubbel Entendre,” said J. Mark Hood, Sound Brewery Co.'s owner and general manager. “Like all microbrewers, we work hard everyday to create our beers, and this just validates all that hard work. It's great to be recognized, and in appreciation, we now deliver our bottled beer to and in Gig Harbor."

Votes were submitted at the festival by writing in their favorite brew on a section of the event program. Votes were cast anonymously and secured by volunteers at the festival.
