High Wind Warning in Effect Until 4 p.m. Monday

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a high wind warning, which is in effect from 10 p.m. Sunday to 4 p.m. Monday.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a high wind warning affecting areas including South Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Lakewood, Puyallup, Sumner and Puyallup.

The warning is in effect from 10 p.m. Sunday to 4 p.m. PST Monday.

The strongest winds are expected to develop late Sunday night and Monday morning.

Southerly wind 15 to 30 mph will develop late Sunday evening then switch to southwest wind 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph late Sunday night and Monday morning. Winds will slowly ease Monday afternoon.

High winds can topple trees, down power lines and damage property. Residents should be prepared for possible power outages.

Coastal Flood Advisory is also in effect until 11 a.m. Monday for these communities. Tidal overflow is possible near the beaches.
