UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning For Pierce County

A cold front is moving across the Pacific Northwest, and the National Weather Service is forecasting low temperatures and possible snow this week.

Pierce County Alert has sent out this following message at 3:55 p.m. on Tuesday:

"National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from 4 a.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday for the Pierce County and Tacoma Metro area for heavy snow. Accumulations late tonight through Wednesday evening will range from 2 to 6 inches. Locally heavier amounts are possible Wednesday. Additional accumulations are possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Monitor TV and radio for weather updates."

Tonight: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 33. West southwest wind between 7 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Wednesday: Rain showers likely before 10am, then snow showers. Snow level 200 feet. High near 38. West southwest wind between 10 and 13 mph becoming light. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. 

Wednesday Night: Snow. Low around 30. North wind between 13 and 16 mph becoming light. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. 

Thursday: Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. North northeast wind between 14 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible. 

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy and blustery, with a low around 22.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. 

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20. 

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38.  

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31.
