March 3, 2012 marks the 81st anniversary since the Star-Spangled Banner officially become the national anthem of the United States.
To celebrate, Peninsula independent retirement community, located at 3445 50th St. Ct. NW in Gig Harbor, welcomes seniors to its free Star-Spangled Weekend events.
The community is hosting an All-American Sing-Along on March 2 at 11 a.m., a veterans benefits seminar and free apple pie for all those who tour on March 3 at 11 a.m., and a Star-Spangled Celebration with a flag cake on March 4 at 11 a.m.
