Learn Safe Harvest of Local Mushrooms at Key Center Library

Mushroom expert Roger Ryno will be at the Key Center Library to talk about harvesting local mushrooms.

Mushroom lovers will learn to safely identify, collect, and use local mushrooms during a free event at Key Center Pierce County Library, 8905 KPN, in Lakebay, on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m.

Roger Ryno, from the Kitsap Peninsula Mycological Society, will share the fascinating natural history of local mushrooms and provide tips for successful foraging and harvesting.

Participants are welcome to bring a sample mushroom in good condition for identification.

Friends of the Key Center Library sponsor this free event and encourage people to bring donations for the Key Peninsula Food Bank.
