The boy died on March 17 after he was ejected from his uncle’s car on Saturday, March 16.

According to court documents, the 26-year-old Gig Harbor male driver blew a blood alcohol level that was more than twice the legal limit and admitted to smoking marijuana before the incident.

On Donovan’s obituary, his family wrote: “In his short time with us here on earth, he was compassionate beyond his years. He had a deep love of animals and family. His beautiful smile and sense of humor would bring joy to everyone he touched.

“His greatest wish in life was that everyone would be nice to one another. We will miss him dearly. The world is at a loss to not have known him.”

Donations to the memorial fund can be carried or mailed to any Tapco branch. Any excess funds will be placed into a trust fund for his sister Trinity.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is also collecting donations to help Donovan’s cause, according to The News Tribune. Click here for more information.
