Airport Reopens After Cessna's Nose Gear Collapses During Landing

The Tacoma Narrows Airport in Gig Harbor shut down temporarily while firefighters cleared the scene Sunday afternoon. The incident is still under investigation.

The Tacoma Narrows Airport was closed Sunday afternoon as officials with the Federal Aviation Administration investigated an incident involving a Cessna airplane.

The Gig Harbor Fire Department posted a tweet about the closure shortly after 1 p.m. The plane's front landing gear collapsed during landing, fire officials said.

The pilot was not injured in the incident.
