9/28 Power Lines Down
A large tree toppled into the power lines on Island Boulevard, Fox Island, and was dangling onto the south side of the road. Peninsula Light was requested as crews coned off the area until their arrival.
9/28 Transformer Fuse Blown
While the engine was returning from a call, they witnessed a power pole transformer fuse blow secondary to a tree branch falling onto the line on 70th/35th St. The power to the nearby stoplight and neighborhood went out until Peninsula Light could restore.
9/29 Car Accident with Entrapment
A driver struck a large dog after exiting Highway 16 onto Purdy Drive. She lost control and then struck a tree. Medics transported her to a local hospital for further treatment.
9/30 House Fire
A homeowner placed a plastic cutting board on top of the oven’s burner, and then rested a crock pot over the cutting board. The burner was accidently left on which started the fire with extension into the kitchen cabinets. There was also smoke damage throughout the home. No injuries occurred, and the fire was extinguished.
10/1 Car Accident
A driver drifted off the roadway near Lombard Drive, went into a ditch and struck a set of trees. The driver self-extricated himself and was transported for continued medical treatment.
10/1 Laundry Room Fire
A home’s laundry room was filled with smoke when the owner returned. He opened the window to vent and called 911. A melted ceiling fan appeared to be the cause of fire – the ceiling was checked for extension and nothing found.
10/4 Boat Fire
A 10’ aluminum boat parked in a carport caught fire near Lucille Parkway. Damage was located in the battery compartment and was using a trickle charger just yesterday. The homeowner extinguished the fire with a garden hose just prior to the engine’s arrival and damage did not extend into the carport or residence.
10/7 Car Accident
A 16 year old driver attempted a U turn near Goodnough/Purdy Drive and was clipped by an oncoming vehicle. Both vehicles were on the side of the road when medics arrived, with all 3 people involved denying injury or needing treatment.
