The first collision occurred when a 22-year-old female driver changed lanes to avoid another car and their bumpers collided. The contact caused her car to spin 180 degrees in the lane of traffic without hitting other cars. She was evaluated and transported to the hospital.

At the second accident, a 38-year-old male driver stated that he was rear-ended and suffered lower back pain. He was treated and transported to continue care at a local hospital.

On May 19, the engine crew was dispatched to alarm activation at a home where the homeowner was evacuated upon their arrival. The firefighters checked all of the gas appliances including the cook top, water heater and furnace, but nothing was found. The alarm stopped when they changed the battery for the carbon monoxide detector.

On May 20, crews investigated a report of a power pole fire near the Purdy Bridge. Peninsula Light also arrived simultaneously. After interviewing local businesses, nothing was found. The reporting party was re-contacted with this information who stated she saw a seagull land on the pole, burst into flames and fall to the ground – but did not report a utility pole on fire.

On May 21, a 53-year-old woman was transported with injuries after her vehicle was struck on the Purdy Spit portion of SR-16. The force of impact landed the vehicle off the roadway and onto the rocks above the beach where she was extricated.

On May 23, a one-month-old baby experienced respiratory distress while in his car seat. The call was placed while on SR 16, where the vehicle had pulled over to provide care until the medics arrived. The baby was then transported for further treatment.

On May 24, the fire department responded to a two-car accident that occurred in the roundabout at Canterwood Boulevard and Burnham Drive. One patient refused to be transported to the hospital despite neck pain and tingling in all of her extremities. Both vehicles sustained minor damages.
