Gig Harbor Hosting Police Volunteer Summit This Saturday

More than 70 volunteers from around the state are expected to attend the summit this Saturday in Gig Harbor.

The Gig Harbor Police Department will be hosting a training summit for law enforcement volunteers this Saturday, April 27.

The Police Volunteer Summit, which will take place at the Gig Harbor Police Department and Civic Center, is expected to draw more than 70 volunteers from the across the state. 

The inaugural event is open to citizen law enforcement volunteers and their program managers.

The free all-day training conference for police volunteers will cover several topics including Crime Prevention Programs, first aid and disabled parking enforcement.

“We are holding the summit because we realized there was a lack of training available for police volunteers,” said Busey. “The summit will allow volunteers from different agencies to talk and exchange ideas.”

The summit is set to wrap up with a networking event at the 7 Seas Brewery.
