Gig Harbor Police Blotter: July 5

The following arrest information was supplied by the Gig Harbor Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DWLS/Arrest: On June 24, police arrested a 48-year-old man in the 10300 block of Burnham Drive NW for driving while license suspended in the third degree and issued a citation for failing to provide proof of insurance.

DUI/Arrest: On June 17, police arrested a 25-year-old female driver for DUI in the intersection of 38th Avenue and 56th Street. The driver was initially pulled over for having a defective brake light, turning without using her turn signal and crossing over the dashed white center line. She was released to her mother at the police station.

Shoplifting/Arrest: On June 27, police arrested two women, 14 and 15, for third-degree theft. The employee said they came out of the fitting room with some clothes in their handbags and walked passed the check out stands without paying.

Found Property: On June 24, a bicycle was found in the woods behind at 8102 Skansie Ave.

Vehicle Prowl/Vandalism: On June 23, an unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim's car parked at the at 5050 Borgen Blvd. Police said someone pried opened the passenger door lock and took the victim's shoes, vehicle registration and insurance.

Shoplifting/Arrest: On June 26, police arrested two 18-year-old men for third-degree theft at Gig Harbor Goodwill, 5500 Olympic Drive. The employee told police the suspects took some shorts into the fitting room and put them over their shorts and started to walk out. The merchandise were a total value of $13.98. Police said one suspect had $35 at the time of the theft.
