Workshop Available for People With Hearing Loss

The Pierce County Community Connections Aging & Disability Resources will be hosting informational workshops in May.

While hearing loss is the second most common condition in seniors, it is a growing problem among younger generations as well. Of 37 million adults with hearing loss, 8.4 million are between 18-44 years old.

About 4 percent of the population in Pierce County currently live with hearing loss significant enough to affect not only their lives but the lives of those around them; family, friends, co-workers, service providers and more.

Pierce County Community Connections Aging & Disability Resources is sponsoring free informational workshops in May, including one in Gig Harbor.

Christine Seymour, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Resource Specialist, will also be present to provide more information.
