Wynn Loiland Walking on His Own

A South King County firefighter and Gig Harbor resident, Wynn Loiland, is recovering after he was critically injured on Nov. 20 while responding to a car crash.

On Feb.12, Loiland's wife, Sue, posted the following message on the CaringBridge website.

Wynn continues to progress. He now walks without any help just a few ques for direction. Yesterday he took a walk that included (slopes), steps, grassy and rocking inclines, and street crossing. His balance is so much better. He is almost completely independent in his self care. Cognatively Wynn is becoming more accurate in his speech and clear in his thinking. While agitation is still an issue, it is lessening a bit. Lastly his vision has made great improvement. His double vision is almost resolved and he has great range of eye movement. The doctors may let him have another home visit next week if he keeps improving like he is. Hopefully he'll get to come home for good in a few weeks.

Thank you so much for all of your positive thoughts and prayers.

Warmly,
Sue
