Aug. 30:

Chest Pain: A 46-year-old woman noticed moderate chest pressure, numbness in her arm along with double vision. She was evaluated and transported for continued treatment.

Sept. 3

Rollover Accident: A 59-year-old woman driving on State Route 16 braked hard to avoid a passing truck and spun into the ditch. She was evaluated and transported for treatment; no other vehicles were involved.

Sept. 4

Football Injury: A 12-year-old boy twisted his neck at football practice after ending up under a pile of players. It felt like his helmet hit his shoulder pad, twisting his neck on impact. He was placed on a backboard and transported for further evaluation.

Carbon Monoxide Detector Alarm: CO alarm activation at a residence on 27th Ave. Northwest. Investigating crews found the home vacant and being extensively remodeled. No CO reading was found after checking the home's perimeter.

Sept. 5

Debris Fire: An unattended 30-foot-by-30-foot pile of construction debris was discovered on fire just after midnight on Horsehead Bay Drive. Crews extinguished using water and foam; the homeowner stated they did not start the fire and the source of ignition could not be determined.

Tree across Roadway: A large tree fell across Warren Drive blocking access. A chainsaw removed the tree to clear the roadway.

Elevator Entrapment - (2 separate rescues): During the power outage, a woman was trapped in the elevator on 56th St. Northwest and two children ages 8 and 10 were inside the dark elevator at the YMCA. Crews were able to open an exterior door and manually operate the hydraulic system to safely open the elevators.  No one required medical treatment.
