This Campaign

What is the primary reason you are running for this office? I have had the honor of serving my community for the past 19 years as a paid member of the Gig Harbor Fire department. It has been a pleasure to be part of this growing and dynamic community as a public servant. I think I offer a good perspective of what our community expects from its fire service. I now want to give back by being part of the governing board. I am running because I care about the future of our community’s health and safety.

What will be your top three priorities if you get elected and why?

My top three priorities will be to:

  • Maintain the same great service offered today in the most cost effective manner.
  • Focus more attention on community involvement at all levels.
  • Develop a community advisory committee to assist with long term planning.

What sets you apart from the other candidates and/or previous office holders? I have spent my career working to reduce fire and injuries that rob citizens of their full life potential and no other commissioners at this time have this background.
I have been involved in community activities for the past 20 years through my involvement in Rotary and Soroptimists and as an honorary Lion as well as through my work with the Schools, City, and County and many community groups.
I am well trained and have a lot of experience in Community Planning for disaster management.

How much money do you expect your campaign to spend on this election? No more than $500
