Need a grocery store for harbor people. If you want full-time residents to shop in the harbor, fewer shops catering just to tourists - with tourist prices. North Gig Harbor needs a Bed, Bath & Beyond and a Trader Joes.

June 27th is not Monday. Could you please clarify the correct date? :)

Thanks, Stacia. The correct date is Wednesday, June 27.

GROCERY STORE....can even be small but better than Finholms. Too bad they did not ffill the void. Designated day for residents at residen'ts prices. Retail staying open later than 5pm......When I worked 8-5 it was very difficult to shop locally.

You nailed it on downtown local shop hours. Everybody but restaurants are closed by 5:30

We need a grocery store for the basics...like an ABC store that they have on almost every corner in HAwaii.

If Gig Harbor is a Maritime City, why is there no Fuel Dock??? How about a good grocery store with easy water access for boaters? Lets get back to our maritime roots.

Good point, Patricia. Especially with longer summer days, extended hours might help the local merchants.

I agree! I understand that in the past there was a fuel dock here...seems like that would be a great addition that would increase boaters coming to Gig Harbor. And definately a nice grocery store providing basic supplies for visitors and downtown residents. A store with a good deli would be great.

I remember when there were two fuel docks in town. It was common to see seaplanes come in for fuel.

Fuel Dock is key. A trolley to get around town would be even better. But a vibrant, charming downtown will need more people living in it. That means more residential units. There are lots of private parking lots with chain linked fences as well as old homes with huge lawns. Why not allow for more residential units limited by architectural design so the character of the harbor is maintained. If more people live there more restaurants and shops will open. Otherwise we will be threading water.... or more accurately sinking to the bottom.

Fuel Dock! Where is he closest?
