Blind TOP 10 Washington Red Wine Tasting

  • Where/When: 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 at Morso.
  • Why Go: Fancy yourself a wine connoisseur? Come take part in Morso's blind wine tasting event this Friday. They have selected five red wines from the 2011 TOP 10 Selling Wines of Vinum Distributors. Puget Sound patrons have already made these wines part of their top 10 favorites, which one does Gig Harbor think is the best? Come and have your vote counted and sample some great Washington wines.
  • Cost: Free.

Harbor Heights Student's present The Jungle Book

  • Where/When: 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Peninsula High School.
  • Why Go: Join the Harbor Heights Elementary drama students this Saturday as they present The Jungle Book. This classic children's tale is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. Enjoy the show!
  • Cost: $8 for adults and $5 for students. Kids 5 and under get in free.

You Knock My Socks Off Run

  • Where/When: 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Route 16 Running & Walking.
  • Why Go: Join the Gig Harbor community for this fun run that starts and finishes at Route 16 Running. This out-and-back 5K race will be run on the new portion of the Cushman Trail. Run solo or as a team of two to compete for some great prizes. There's also a Kid's Dash starting at 8:45 a.m. Every runner will get a unique pair of socks and a medal. There will be awards for the top 3 couples, top 3 individuals and top male and female.
  • Cost: Registration ranges between $25 and $50. Proceeds benefit Dock St. Running & Walking. 

 

Live Music at Harbor Greens Wine Bar

  • Where/When: 7-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Forza Coffee.
  • Why Go: Get your live music fix this weekend at the Harbor Greens Wine Bar. On Friday, Marc Johnson & Joey Niemann Band take the stage, then on Saturday enjoy the sounds of Music Unlimited Charlie Brown. 
  • Cost: Both shows are free and 21 and over after 7 p.m.

 

Open Mic Coffeehouse

  • Where/When: 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Peninsula Retirement.
  • Why Go: If you're a music student or performer looking for an audience, it's time to show off your talent at Peninsula Retirement this Saturday. The facility will be providing a piano, sound system and an appreciative audience! Prizes will be awarded to the audience's favorite performers. There will also be lemonade, iced tea, popcorn and snacks. If you're interested in performing, contact Penelope Power at 253-858-4800 to reserve your spot on the program.
  • Cost: One can of food for FISH Food Bank.

 

Free Monthly Story Time at the Harbor History Museum

  • Where/When: 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19 at .
  • Why Go: Looking for something to do with the kids this Sunday? Bring them to the Harbor History Museum as they partner up with to host a free children’s story time in the museum’s lobby. This month's story will be Three Bears of the Pacific Northwest by Marcia and Richard Vaughan.
  • Cost: Admission to the lobby is free, and children are welcome to bring pillows, stuffed animals, blankets; anything that will make their story time more comfortable.
