More than 3,000 students from 7 local schools participated in the project organized by the Peninsula Hands On Art.

Gig Harbor elementary students recently put on their artist berets for a project based on the famous birch tree paintings by Austrian artist Gustav Klimt.

More than 3,000 students from 7 local schools participated in the project organized by the Peninsula Hands On Art.

Founded in 2003, the Peninsula Hands On Art provides 4 art projects every year by trained volunteer docents.

Through donations and volunteer efforts, the program provides art history classes and projects to the local students.

For more information, visit the Peninsula Hands On Art website.
